Weight of Space specifically uses wide angle lenses and available light to explore the relationship between human presence and the scale of the environment we inhabit. Shot in black and white to strip the image back to its essential elements, the work uses shape, form and tonal contrast to convey the enormity of the spaces we occupy and the impact, physical and psychological, we have upon them. The series asks the viewer to consider their own scale within the world, and to awaken a sense of the infinite.
